My “Natasha” pieces are named after one of my sweet cousins. My favorite times with her were meeting for brunch in Charlotte to catch up. She has since moved to Georgia and I miss her so. My “Natasha” pieces contain cut glass vessels and this piece was my very first “Natasha”. I love painting cut glass and all of the reflective marks and refractory colors in the glass. This vessel is actually a pitcher that is part of my mother’s collection. I love this vessel so much and it makes me smile every time I look at this painting. I also really love the eucalyptus leaves in this painting. During this time, I was putting eucalyptus in most of my painted arrangements. I enjoy incorporating them in my paintings because they contain so many colors other than green and are super fun to paint! If you look closely, you will see a lot of yellow and purple in them.
